When to visit Vancouver

Vancouver experiences a typical oceanic or marine climate. It is famous for being one of the warmest regions during winter. The weather is characterized by warm, dry summers and mild winters.
During summer, the days remain warm and pleasant throughout, with the temperature within the pleasant daily mean of not more than 22.5°C (72.5°F). The days are mildly dry, and July is the driest month with only 35.6mm (1.4") in precipitation averagely. However, afternoon light showers of rain are frequent, but they do not bring the city to a standstill.
Winter days are cold, dark, and wet. The temperature drops significantly to the range of 0.8°C (33.4°F) and 3.5°. Most days are cloudy, and the nights are freezing, with the temperature occasionally coming below the freezing point. Snowfall is not rare, although, on average, there are only two snowfall days per month for the winter months. During the day, however, the temperature can go up to 10°C (50°F).
The peak of the travel period to Vancouver falls between June and August, during the peak of summer. During this period, the weather is not only warm and pleasant - it is also mildly dry and devoid of any weather-related interruptions while touring the city. Most outdoor activities are vibrant during this period.
As for the lovers of the cold, the ultimate destination is the Grouse Mountain that remains open during winter for activities like skiing, skating, and snowboarding. Primarily, the period between December and March is set aside for activities on the renowned Grouse Mountain.
Between July and August, Vancouver holds the festival of the Celebration of Light, which is celebrated amid numerous fireworks displays and shows in the night sky. Between August and September, Vancouver also holds another festival, dubbed the Pacific National Exhibition Festival, which commands a massive crowd in attendance from far and wide.
